We’ve changed some of our fares to give you more bus for your buck! Save with lower Student and Silver Streak fares, free 2-hour transfers, and a brand new 10-Trip Pass! How Can You Get These Great New Fares?

Student discount

You’ll need to have a discount TAP card to take advantage of these great discounted fare prices. Find out how to get one here.

Silver Streak

You don’t have to do anything! We’ve lowered the fare for the Silver Streak to help you go good places.

Free 2-Hour Transfers

All you need to do is pay your fare with a TAP card, whether that’s a plastic card or a virtual card on the TAP LA app. LIFE 4-ride and 20-ride passes work, too. Then, board another Foothill Transit bus within two hours of paying your fare, and tap your card. If it’s a local line (including the Silver Streak!), you won’t be charged a thing. If your second bus is Commuter Express (Lines 490, 493, 495, 498, 499, and 699), you’ll have to pay an upcharge, because these lines have a different fare. Make sure you have stored value on your card to pay your upcharge. Please note that you can’t transfer to Commuter Express with a 31-Day Local pass. You’ll need to pay the full Commuter Express fare.

10-Trip Pass

This pass is good for 10 trips, no matter how long it takes you to use them up. Even better, it includes our free 2-hour transfers, so you can use it for up to 20 rides! It’s available on the TAP LA app or at a Transit Store.
